You are actually able to add pictures to your story. We have an add image option in our editor and you are more than welcome to use it. There are already a number of stories that contain images on the site and our only guideline is that these images should relate to the work itself and not act as promotional material or deviate from story content.
If you want to add an image then go for it! It would be great to see new types of stories and presentation on the site.
