  1. Could there be a feature that shows how many people have added your story to their reading list?

Could a feature be added where you can see how many reading list your story has been added exactly? Like now you can only see when and who has added it when you get a notification, but you don't know exactly how many people are actually following the story. Many other writing sites already have this feature and it's the only thing I noticed lacking from Inkitt. Could this be added?

  2. Author and Reader Connection

I think we should have a limit of 1,000 words for our description on our profile... 200 just doesn’t do it, I want to say so much yet I can’t. A reader’s connection to an author is very important and vise versa, we need to have more space to express ourselves on our profile.

  5. Differentiate between the blurb and the chapters

Differentiate between the blurb and chapters. Create a different section, don't let us jump rite into the chapters. we just want to see the description, not read the entire book at once. what's the purpose of adding it to your library if you have direct access to the chapters without selecting on them?

  9. showing what book number of the series you are reading.

for example, you see book 2/3 and click it and start reading, it often doesn't say book 2/3 so you may miss a book, whilst if it says book 2 of the series and lists the first book your more likely to read it

  14. Request/Offer Constructive Criticism

    Request/give upon request constructive criticism.
Reviews are great, but don't serve the same purpose and like every other rating system can be used as a popularity contest or revenge outlet. It would be nice to have the option to request constructive criticism (some authors may not be interested) and for readers to offer notes to those authors who make their manuscript open to this input without it being part of rating based system.

  15. Make it easier for mobile readers to be able to leave feedback.

At least 20+ people have contacted me to say they have been unable to leave feedback via mobile reading. This gives an unrealistic analytic view because I am not able to get feedback. I have 22 comments when I know I could have had nearer 50. Just something to think about for future changes.
    Kind regards
    Laura

    Hi there,

we just released nested comments, so a second layer commenting on chapter comments for better communication and feedback giving.

We also work on an advanced community editing that should come live in the next 2 months which will enable readers but also peer authors to give clear and helpful feedback.

    Best,
    Inkitt

  16. Provide a story's vital statistics in its listing

I'm delighted that Inkitt is hosting both fanfiction and non-fanfiction, but I need more to evaluate whether I want to try reading a story than merely a picture and sentence fragment. I want to know the following:

    • [Required] Title:
    • [Required] Author(s): - make sure multi-author stories are well supported!
    • [Required] Genre(s): (e.g., Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Romance, Humor - these are not mutually exclusive!)
    • [Required] Rating: (use a recognizable system, please)
    • [Optional] Trope(s)/Theme(s)/Motif(s): (e.g., Hurt/Comfort, Peggy Sue, AU)
    • [Required] Whether or not it's fanfiction
    • [Optional] Fandom(s): (if it's fanfiction)
    • [Optional] Pairing(s): (specific character names if it's fanfiction, genders and multiplicity either way)

  17. Allow bookmarks or marker

It would be great to place a marker where I stopped reading. When I return to finish the story I could easily find where I exited.

  18. Improve all filters.

To be able to select from a list that gives many options including having no filter or excluding all.
    The filters should include:
    Fandom
    Genre
    Status
    Characters
    Time Range
    Crossovers
