encourage readers to leave more comments somehow

I'm just about to suggest Tara's idea! Sometimes people just don't know how to leave feedback, so narrowing it into categories and specific questionnaires would really help generate more constructive reviews! Most reviews I receive now are simply just "Great work!" or "Very imaginative!". Though I appreciate the kind words, they don't really help me improve.

I like how on Wattpad you can comment on each paragraph. That's cool. It sometimes feels like you're watching a movie with friends.
That said, I'd also like to turn off the ability to see other people's comments because sometimes I just want to focus on reading.

Building off of Tara's suggestion, what if you allowed the author to ask questions at the end of chapters? "What did you think of Bob's confession?" or "What do you think is going to happen next?"

Often readers don't know what to say. Perhaps a multiple choice list for the less chatty. Select a star rating and one of 10 lines readers can preset in preferences. Or even comment prompts such as, "What about the story made you read to the end?"
