    Building off of Tara's suggestion, what if you allowed the author to ask questions at the end of chapters? "What did you think of Bob's confession?" or "What do you think is going to happen next?"

    Maybe the genres as they are, with the branching ability to go further. Like how "autobiography" would be in "non-fiction," but when people search "non-fiction," they can choose that option to limit to only see autobios. Perhaps rather than using genres, really, this could be accomplished with the tagging system. Then, perhaps, the tags could be sorted with "trending" or "popular" or "newly added" to kind of shuffle the deck of books, so to speak. This might require allowing for a few additional tags in the book settings.
