Sounds like a great community feature.
Especially, if this then spirals into features where we (writers) can add Beta-Readers or Editors to our project. So they can leave comments in the draft before the author then submits or resubmits the chapter.

I think that would build a strong community, that would attract a lot of new members.

It might even open up a small market, where aspiring word-athletes can begin to gain experience and earn a little on the side. Thinking about it, that sounds like a lot of work, but the potential seems big to me.

True, an option for a dark mode should be pretty basic by now.
As writers and readers alike should take an extra amount of care for their eyes.

Can't offer any help on the matter, but wanted to ask if you don't have MS Word because you don't want it, or because you don't want to pay the subscription fee for Office 360?

If the latter is the case, then you could pick up a 2018/19 MS Office Key on eBay for 5€. I wrote almost two books on Google Docs, and I was satisfied with Docs, but when I bought such a key just for fun, I realized I will never go back. MS Word is just a vastly superior tool for writers.

Though there are valid alternatives you could also use. LibreOffice comes to mind. It's basically a MS Office clone for free. It does however not work as well as the original, but far better then Docs.
I believe you can even save your documents in the MS Word format with LibreOffice without any hiccups.

I know this doesn't really offer anything to you suggestion, but I hope it does help you in some way.

    Best regards,

    O

Just wanted to post the same suggestion!

    I'll add mine down below.

I agree with word restriction. Especially in combination with my suggestion of colors. Maybe five words in a row can have a different color, but then there needs to be one or two sentences in between before you can add color again.

Centered text limitations however will be a bit more tricky. Personally, I'm just thinking about a letter in a chapter of mine, about 600 words (about 1600 the whole chapter.), and the whole letter is centered.

Maybe, the limitation there could be not more than, let's say, 40% of the entire text.

    Hey there INKITT Team!

I've fairly recently grown active on your platform and was wondering if you could enhance or add the feature for us to format our text?

To me, and for my book at least, it is important that I can align some text to the center, and other parts to the right. I actually have to delete some text from my book just so I can submit it here, simply because it needs to be on the right side. Giving us the ability to chose text color, but maybe limit it in some way, would be amazing too!

Now, this probably sounds like I'm advocating a feature just for my book, but I think formatting is an important part of writing a book and it's delivery to the reader. Giving your writers the ability to play around with it, and begin to format their text a bit more in-depth, would certainly be a great boon to INKITT and its community.
