Don't make the picture required for a story
I am unable to download pictures to the cover. I don't know if that's a glitch in the laptop or if other people have this problem, but I am unable to publish any stories because of this, and I wish to.

Increase the character count for the teaser.
It's too limiting right now, and it prevents me from actually writing something decent. Could you increase it so we can give broader summaries for our stories?

Connect and chat with other authors even famous ones, help each other with ideas, advertise each others work to the publicand help each other

Allow readers to give a blue star with rating to show story is original, unpredictable and fresh.
This does not add to the yellow rating stars in the sense of 1-5. The blue star adds depth to a rating declaring the story is original or possesses a fresh voice in the way of the telling. Not so much about writing style but to show story is different in a good way.

Make it so that we can read using our full screen.
At the moment we have a narrow reading column, when we read a story we can't use our entire screen, it would be much more pleasant if we could. Maybe have a button with arrows pointing away from each other to widen the text range? Something like this? <- -> ( I really appreciate the font editor by the way) :)

Have readers answer a couple quick questions for both author and future readers about their initial impressions of the novel. eg first 2
My novel, Secret Monitor Men, has over 1000 chapter reads yet only 1 review while other stories often receive reviews for only 2 chapter reads. A lot of quid pro quo. Must make process more objective. If author reviews you then you can't review them. Need short feedback through each part of story. So after 10 chapters a little poll comes up either made by author or selected by author to collect reader likes & views. Specific questions can be asked like favorite character. Then another after 17 which only asks about last 7 chapters. Must complete to go on.…

Add a feature to the mobile site that allows you to save what page/chapter you were on before you closed out the tab
It would be great if you could add a way for readers to bookmark what page/chapter (I say that because each chapter is one long page) they were on last. Please?

Make the page jumpable
Because sometimes people love to read from the latest one and back again to read from the beginning. Like an ebook. So, we can choose instead like reading an email.

Hi there,
I declined this idea because “compulsory” would be very harmful for the experience of readers. After your submission of the idea I did research and conducted a lot of feedback via calling readers on Inkitt to ask them about this.
A lot readers actually were quite introverted and didn’t want to engage but love to read. Other’s said they love to give comments but sometime for some chapters they just don’t know what to comment, so they wouldn’t like to be forced to do so.Therefore, I create a new idea here: https://inkitt.uservoice.com/forums/197325-general/suggestions/38066608-encourage-readers-to-leave-more-comments-somehow
Please support this idea and also write in the comments which ideas you have how we could encourage readers to write more comments.
From the product side here are some notes in what we did or will do already:

Show all books in the genres search. I cannot find my book in its genre.
I have searched for my books in their genres and can't find them. I searched the latest and they don't exist. I see books that have been updated 6 months ago in the latest but my book that was updated a week ago does not show. The only way I can find it is if I search for the name. How is anyone supposed to find my book and read it if it doesn't even show in the search???????????

Add More Color
The black and white is a bit bland and most friends I have showed agree too. You should add more colors so it's attracting to those who find the app or website.

allow upload of simple text formats (txt, md, rtf, odt?)
I can understand not letting html uploads happen (risky), but the ability to upload files would be grand. If you've already written your novel and want to share it, the only way I could find to do that was to copy/paste one chapter at a time. Unga. Sure, I'd love markdown, but even plain text would at least simplify the process of loading new content.

Have "feedback points" as an incentive for people to read more stories rather than just dump theirs and run.
You could trade feedback points for prizes like coffee mugs and t-shirts. You could also exchange the feedback points for feature time on your main page. People need more incentive to read stories...otherwise they may just splat theirs on your site hoping someone will read it, then move on without bothering to read anyone else's

Used Profile Pages
These can be censored, of course, but not having the option to make them is a little annoying.
Plenty of great writers refuse to migrate from FF.net despite the superior story content simply because Inkitt does not provide as many services.
To name a few—profile pages, private messages, sorting by fandoms, sorting in general, and the most important, a search engine.
Seriously, if you guys want this to work you need to be able to match all of the services that the other writing websites provide.

Credit artists
As a way to support other artists, it would be nice to have a field on each story where you could put the source/name/website that provided the cover image, if it's not your own work.

Have historical fiction as agenre
Historical fiction should definitely be a genre.
